How is the winner chosen?
The winner will be chosen based on two (2) criteria.
1. Based on the response to the question provided in the scholarship application
2.Based on the applicant's ability to prove that they are an official member of their specified varsity intercollegiate sports team by the specified date
When will the scholarship be awarded?
The recipient of Overlooked to Recruited Scholarship will be chosen on September 1st, 2019.
The recipient will have 15 days to provide proof from their athletic department that they are an official member of a varsity sports team and are eligible to receive this scholarship. The award will be paid out once proof is verified.
Do I have to be a us citizen to receive this award?
No. This scholarship is open to any student-athlete who plans to enroll full time in an accredited US 2 or 4 year university and is eligible to compete at said university and is an official member of a sports team at said university
Do I have to get recruited to accept this scholarship?
No however you will have to be an official member of your specified varsity intercollegiate sports team to receive this award.
Can I still apply if i haven't committed yet?
Yes. We encourage all high school athletes who have an interest in participating in sports on the collegiate level to apply for this scholarship whether they've been recruited at the time of the completion of the application or not. This scholarship is designed to help student-athletes supplement the costs of their education not covered by athletic aid. The recipient of this award will have until September 15th to provide proof of their standing as a intercollegiate student-athlete.
Is there a Gpa or test score minimum requirement?
No. There are no test score or GPA requirements.
Is this scholarship renewable?
No. This scholarship is non-renewable
Will the compliance department at my College/university have to approve this scholarship before I can receive it?
Yes. Before the scholarship can officially be awarded, you must provide express written permission from your school's compliance department stating that you are eligible to receive this award.
Will I have to sign a letter of intent to be eligible for this award?
No. We are aware that not all institutions participate in the National Letter of Intent Program. However, legitimate proof must be provided to certify that you are indeed enrolled full time in a 2 or 4 year institution and that you are an official member of any varsity sports team at that institution.
